Q&Age
Connecting Generations
Intergenerational Programs
At Bupa Aged Care, we’re passionate about creating meaningful connections across generations. Our care homes offer a wide range of activities that bring residents and younger generations together in fun, engaging, and purposeful ways. Our residents have so many fascinating stories, life lessons, and experiences to share - all it takes is the right question.
That’s why we created Q&Age. It’s a movement that invites younger generations to ask older Australians the big questions – minus the small talk.
What is Q&Age
Q&Age connects students with the wisdom of older generations.
By encouraging meaningful conversations, it bridges the generation gap and highlights the valuable insights older people offer—through the simple act of asking questions and learning from one another.
Before turning to the internet, let’s tap into the real-life experiences of older generations. Ask them your questions, listen to their insights, and help bridge the generation gap!
Why Q&Age Matters
Participating in Q&Age offers numerous benefits:
Sharing Wisdom – Students gain life lessons and practical advice.
Building Empathy – Encourages understanding and respect between generations.
Strengthening Communities – Connects schools, care homes, and community groups.
Enhancing Wellbeing – Promotes social and mental well-being for seniors.

How Q&Age Works
Q&Age is a collaboration between Bupa Aged Care, schools, and community groups. It’s a flexible initiative that can be adapted to suit everyone, regardless of age or background. Here’s how schools, students, and community groups can get involved:
Students write questions to ask at intergenerational gatherings.
Conversation cards to spark engaging discussion with seniors.
Organise a fun trivia competition between students and seniors.
Students interview seniors and create life story books together.
Collaborate on art projects or portraits to strengthen intergenerational bonds.
For Teachers and Community Leaders
Teachers and community leaders are integral to the success of Q&Age. By incorporating Q&Age activities into intergenerational meet-ups, lesson plans, or school activities, educators can make the most of this initiative and help students develop valuable social skills, gain new perspectives, and foster meaningful connections with older generations - enhancing both their personal growth and learning experience.
